Use Random Acts of Kindness to Help Beat the Heat
Heat and humidity are going to impact West Alabama in a major way today and tomorrow. Most of us are fortunate enough to be able to stay indoors with the air conditioning running at full blast, but don't forget about those who have to brave the heat!
Postal workers, drivers for UPS and FedEx, construction crew members, contractors, bus drivers, and so many more are stuck working outside with heat index values near 110 degrees. I can't imagine how hard it would be to work and have to deal with August heat and Alabama humidity.
If you can, do something to help these people beat the heat. Bring a bottle of water out to the mailman or share an ice cold Gatorade with your kids' bus driver. These little acts of kindness can go a long way in helping friends and neighbors stay cool in the middle of this heat wave.
