Tuscaloosa Needs You To Help Preserve Iconic Landmark
Tuscaloosa is more than just an iconic sports championship town thanks to the University of Alabama.
Yes, we win lots of championships, ROLL TIDE; however, there is more to Tuscaloosa than meets the eye.
The group Historic Tuscaloosa is asking residents to help preserve one of the area's famous and beloved landmarks.

Get ready for a volunteer workday at the Old Tavern on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 1 pm to 4 pm.
The event will be held at 500 Nick's Kids Avenue, and The Old Tavern stands as one of Tuscaloosa's oldest structures. The volunteer event will allow participants to help maintain the property and network with others who share a pride in Tuscaloosa's rich history.
The volunteers will help with some landscaping, cleanup, painting, and other maintenance needed around the facility.
Don't worry about experience because it is not required to volunteer for this project.
Historic Tuscaloosa wants everyone to know that keeping Tuscaloosa's historic sites open and in good condition is up to all of us who live, work, and worship in West Alabama.
If you RSVP for the volunteer day, you will receive a free Historic Tuscaloosa t-shirt upon arrival.
Here is the best way to RSVP for the upcoming volunteer day.
