OK, Brother Scott, we'll let you take the story from here...

What do moms really want on their special day?

A couple of years ago, while working on a Mother’s Day message, I asked your mom a couple of questions. Well, maybe not your mom, but a group of moms.  One of them might have been yours. I did not ask them what they wanted for Mother’s Day; I asked them what they truly wanted. I asked these moms of adults, young adults, teens, elementary children, and preschoolers the following questions:

o   What do you want your children to know?

o   What do you want for your children?

Here are their answers about what moms want for their children:

Moms want their children to know Jesus. They want you to know that He is the only way to be reconciled to God.

Mom’s want their children to know life’s purpose. That purpose is to be God’s person in all that you are and do so that you reach that heavenly rest.

Mothers want their children to know God’s love. After all, God is love. Remember, His love motivates our love and our lives as we follow Him.

Mom’s want good marriages and relationships for their children. They want spouses for their children who will help them on their walk with God. They want them to have friends who encourage righteousness.

Moms want a good family for their children, and the most important family is your church (spiritual) family.

Overall, your mom wants you to focus on what is most important: Your relationship with God through Christ.
