A Tuscaloosa man was arrested after crashing his car into a house Wednesday afternoon and running directly into the path of law enforcement officers after attempting to flee the scene of the accident.

According to the Tuscaloosa Police Department, 37-year-old Chad Gaylord Nall crashed his car into an unoccupied house in the 500 block of 19th Street. He bailed out of his car and then fled the scene on foot. He ran through a yard on 18th Street and ended up in the direct path of officers who were investigating unrelated drug activity within the area.

Nall was pursued by officers before being apprehended at a nearby apartment complex. He was charged with first-degree possession of marijuana, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, attempting to elude, and first-degree criminal trespassing and booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $45,000 bond.
