
Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue Has Multiple Opportunities Available Soon

The Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue Department is about to have several openings due to retirements in the next few months.
Fire Chief Mark Delk tells us they are now accepting applications for the next candidate physical ability test.
Applicants have until March 19, 2026, to apply.
Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue has two battalions, twelve pumpers, four truck companies, and three rescue units.
The starting salary is $57,000 with lateral transfers considered and a 24/48 schedule.

Bonus opportunities include overtime pay, advanced EMT and paramedic incentive pay, and more.

What are the requirements?
Each applicant must be a United States Citizen and at least 18 years of age.
Applicants cannot have any convictions for felony crimes or offenses involving dishonesty or false statements and must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate and a valid State Driver's License.
All applicants must provide a certificate documenting the successful completion of the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) within 12 months when applying.
Additionally, a Pass/Fail written test with a minimum qualifying score of 70% will be required to continue in the hiring process.
