Drish Mansion, an old plantation home in the heart of Tuscaloosa, is haunted by the original owner's wife, Sarah Drish.

In 1837, Dr. John R. Drish decided to give his loving spouse, Sarah, the house of her dreams. After his death, the poor widow would burn candles throughout the house in remembrance of him. Sarah soon became obsessed with these candles and requested that her family burn them at her own funeral. Her demand was ignored and ever since Sarah's death, many claim the Drish Mansion has experienced some paranormal activity.

There have been many incidences where onlookers would call the Tuscaloosa fire station and report that a tower of the building was ablaze. Each time this has happened, firefighters would arrive and the structure would be completely untouched by flames. There has even been a report of Sarah's ghost making an appearance during one of the false alarms.

Drish Mansion is located on 2300 17th Street, coincidentally enough, extremely close to the fire station.
