Severe storms are expected to roll in over the next few days across portions of Alabama. This could impact your plans during the Memorial Day Holiday weekend.

Today - Thursday Outlook

“A few widely scattered showers or storms are possible over North Alabama this afternoon and early tonight with the odds of any one spot getting wet is 20-30 percent,” said James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist.

In addition, those in that area should know that wherever storms develop, they could be strong, potentially bringing small hail and gusty winds, said Spann.

Holiday Weekend Overview

The National Weather Service in Birmingham said that “a few disturbances move east over the area and will trigger shower and thunderstorm development with most of the activity and greater risk for strong to severe storms occurring during the late morning through late evening time frame.”
