The recall was initiated on December 13, 2024, but was officially classified as a Class II recall on January 17, 2025, by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). A Class II recall indicates that use or exposure to the affected product could cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, though the probability of serious harm is considered remote.

At this time, no illnesses have been reported, but consumers who purchased the affected milk are advised to check the Best Before dates and dispose of any recalled items. The affected products include Horizon Organic Aseptic Plain Whole Milk with UPC numbers 3663207113 (for the 12-pack) and 3663207127 (for a single unit). These products were distributed nationwide and may have been sold in various grocery stores and retailers.

The recalled products have Best Before dates as follows:

  • 8,654 cases with a Best Before date of March 3, 2025
  • 7,385 cases with a Best Before date of March 4, 2025
  • 1,781 cases with a Best Before date of March 6, 2025
  • 1,868 cases with a Best Before date of March 7, 2025

 

Consumers who have purchased any of the recalled milk products should immediately discard them.
