Recall Alert: Alabama Parents, Medicine Risks Child Poisoning
Imagine a busy parent grabbing a bottle of medicine to help their child feel better. The medicine is used safely by many, but what if the packaging wasn’t as secure as it should be? What if the bottle, meant to be child-resistant, could easily be opened by a curious toddler?
This is the problem now faced by consumers in Alabama. A liquid elixir, sold online, has been recalled due to a dangerous packaging flaw.

The 100 mL bottles of Benadryl lack the required child-resistant safety features mandated by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. While no incidents have been reported yet, the risk is real: a young child could easily access and swallow the medication.
How can you tell if you have the affected product?
The recalled Benadryl comes in a round, dark plastic bottle with a pink and white label that says “Benadryl” in blue text. It was sold on Amazon from July 2023 through October 2024, priced between $16 and $19. The packaging also includes a white label with the code “X003VRIGUL”.
