Quad-demic Hitting Alabama Hard
What in the world are we facing now?
Pandemics are a thing of the past.
Yesterday's news.
Now, it is the all-new Quad-demic.
It is hitting Alabama patients and hospitals hard and can take significant time to get over.
One person I spoke with reported symptoms starting during her Thanksgiving celebration in Northport, Alabama.
However, all these months later her symptoms have not completely subsided.
So what is this mysterious "quad-demic"?
According to the experts, it is Covid-19, influenza, RSV, and norovirus.
Four for the price of one.
The CDC claims data shows that all four of these viruses are in circulation this winter and being recorded at very high levels.
That explains the complaints from many saying they continue to have symptoms for longer than normal periods.
Many are asking about norovirus, which is usually referred to as the stomach flu in the USA.
The numbers for norovirus in the US and in Alabama are very high. In fact, some of the highest in years.
