PHOTOs: More Giant Bugs I Found In Tuscaloosa Alabama
Please tell me this is almost over.
I confess to be a big wimp when it comes to bugs, insects and other crawling living things.
Winter is closing in and I hope this ends the infestation.
I moved back to West Alabama in September, and I was greeted by the biggest spider these eyes have ever seen.
That's the spider I'm talking about.
The big fella is not even from this country.
It appears to either be Asian or Australian.
What's it doing in West Alabama? Wrong turn?
I come home from a weekend away and I am startled at the giant creature over my door.
It will soon be right over my head.
You should have seen me trying to get in my door in record speed. I didn't want it to jump on or at me.
I mean, come on, would you want that?
Thank God for a new app on my phone. It's called "Picture Insect".
It's not cheap, by the way. You have to pay to get the bugs you face identified. It's worth it if you hate them as much as I do.
The app tells me it's a giant leaf footed bug.
I call an exterminator and he tells me to get ready for a ton of them in the Fall and Winter. I did not want to hear that news.
I'm cleaning up this weekend when this, dead, I hope, spider was found.
Yes, I ran him through the bug app and it told me he's an orb weaver or something close.
That's it. I'm moving. At least to another house in Tuscaloosa.
