“At Starting Quarterback for Alabama, Number __?”
For years the question of who was going to be the starting quarterback at the University of Alabama was a no brainer. This year the landscape is a little different with three great quarterbacks competing for the starting job.
Jalen Milroe is returning to the tide. last season he posted a total of 297 years, threw for five touchdowns and had only three interceptions. Jalen hails from Katy, TX and is in his junior year at UA.

Ty Simpson comes to Tuscaloosa from the Volunteer state of Tennessee. Ty had an explosive high school career with 193 of 305 passes completed for over 2,800 yards and 41 touchdowns, with just three interceptions, through 14 games.
He stands at 6-foot-2 weighing in at 200 pounds. He rushed for 862 yards and 11 touchdowns on 92 carries. Simpson led his high school team to a 13-1 season.
Now what competition doesn't need a wild card to shuffle the deck? Tyler Buchner transferred to Alabama from the University of Notre Dame.
Tyler Buchner comes to the tide bringing a total of 651 yards with three touchdowns. Tyler stands at 6-foot-1 and weighs in at 215 pounds.
Each quarterback brings a special set of skills but only one can get the go ahead from Coach Saban. Milroe is definitely a dual threat quarterback with the tools to be explosive.
Ty Simpson is mainly a pocket passer and possess foot and body quickness. Simpson seems to have an accurate throwing motion, demonstrating his ability to make passes from any angle.
Tyler Buchner has an amazing escape ability to make a defender miss him. Buchner has shown he has the ability to go to the long passes with accuracy.
The answer to the quarterback won't be answered until closer to September 2. But whoever gets the go ahead from coach Saban has some huge shoes to fill.
