Need To Pass Time On I-20/59? Here Are Some Great Ideas

Being stuck in traffic in Alabama is no joke. I finally had my first real experience being stuck on I-20/59 and it was no fun at all.

I went to the airport to pick up a friend who had a late flight the other night. Of course, I get on I-20/59 thinking it was going to be a quick and easy ride, especially since it was late at night. I can't tell you how wrong I was.

I ended up getting on the highway at around 9:45 ish and only got about 15 minutes into my drive until all of a sudden, everyone slowed down. Within a few feet, the slow down became a complete stop!

Here we are sitting in traffic at a complete standstill. I'm thinking it would be only a few minutes but I was VERY wrong. Thirty minutes turned into forty-five minutes, then an hour, and then an hour and a half. You'd think we moved up even a few inches but no, we were in the exact same spot for what ended up being close to three hours!

After about 2 hours and close to fifty minutes, we finally were able to move. I don't know if it was a crash but all three lanes were completely shut down. Needless to say, we had plenty of time to kill and I found myself thinking of random ways I could kill time if I were ever in this situation again. Who knows?! Maybe this list will help you next time you're stuck on I-20/59.
