Meetings On Rural Violence Continue Today In Tuscaloosa
The University of Alabama’s College of Community Health Sciences will hold a second day of discussions on challenges in our rural communities.
The 2024 Rural Health Conference is being held in the Bryant Conference Center on the Alabama campus. The conference has already held sessions on gender-based violence and sex trafficking, mass fatality management, and the effects of violence on communities.
In today's meetings, the agenda includes "Gun Present: Inside a Southern District Attorney’s Battle Against Gun Violence" and "The Psychology of Incarceration".
The goal of these conferences, according to the Rural Health Conference, is to bring together healthcare professionals, community leaders, researchers, government officials, and policymakers who hear from speakers in the field and share information and knowledge about rural health issues, as well as solutions to address those issues.
