Monk Shares His Favorite Waylon Jennings’ Songs on the Legend’s 79th Birthday

For me, Waylon Jennings has always been a favorite and will always be the epitome of country cool. 

I've always admired him for the way he stood up to the Nashville music industry and never compromised his music. His song writing is pure and raw and his legacy has stood the test of time.

When I was a kid growing up, I'll always remember my father had three 8-track tapes in his van that we used to cruise around listening to. Linda Ronstadt, Juice Newton and Waylon. I think the album was 'Dreaming My Dreams' but I could be a little off on that. We'd ride around blaring it with the windows down!
