Veteran Jodie Minor to Run for District 21 Seat
Pickens County native and distinguished U.S. Army veteran Jodie Minor recently announced the start of his campaign for Senate. Minor is aiming for the Alabama Senate District 21 seat in the 2026 election.
"Building bridges, progressing forward" is Minor's campaign slogan, and according to his campaign's website, Minor's mission is to:
"Rebuild trust in our democracy by expanding economic opportunity for everyday Americans, fighting to restore emergency room care access for Pickens County residents, fearlessly championing Veterans’ rights, and ensuring that every District 21 resident has a fair shot at their American Dream."
Minor is no stranger to the area. Raised in Carrollton, he was a high school basketball star and was even named Pickens County Player of the Year.
Minor also served in the U.S Army, where he received the Lieutenant General Timothy J. Maude Award for being selected as the Army’s Human Resources Officer of the Year. He was also an Army Congressional Fellow, where he served as Legislative Assistant to Congressman Robert Aderholt.
With the 2026 election approaching on November 3rd, Minor and his team are hitting the campaign trail hard, offering to attend events and announcing community porch chats, a launch party, and more on the campaign's Facebook page.
