May traditionally tends to be one of college football's quietest months but and thanks to name, image and likeness (NIL) the sport is back in the forefront of the sports media landscape.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban and Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher have continued their year-long spat by trading shots concerning recruiting tactics and how to best utilize NIL.

Saban insinuated the Aggies utilized NIL to "buy every player on their team" in relation to its No. 1 overall 2022 recruiting class. Fisher subsequently called an emergency press conference to respond to Saban, in which he sarcastically called the Alabama coach "God".

The pair have, allegedly, been friends for a number of years. Both coaches hail from West Virginia and spent time working together with the LSU Tigers, winning a national championship in 2003. Fisher alluded, in his Thursday press conference, that he's discontinuing his relationship with Saban.

"Oh, he's called," said Fisher.

"You just didn't take the call?" followed up Olin Buchanan of TexAgs.com.

"Not going to, we're done. He shows you who he is. He's the greatest ever, huh? When you've got all the advantages, it's easy," finished Fisher.
