Could this be any more heartbreaking?

We've had tragedy in Hale County, Alabama, in the last few days involving young people, and now we have another young person in a dire situation, fighting for her life.
An Alabama man is being accused of murder after shooting four people during a Fall bonfire party in a rural area of Alabama.
The area is known as "the pit" in Jefferson County, according to a report from WVTM.
The man is Steven Whitehead, and he is currently behind bars for the shooting of young Kimber Mills early on Sunday.
Officers arrived at an awful scene with multiple victims who had been shot: two young men and Mills.
We've learned that another young female was shot and taken to the hospital before authorities arrived at the scene.
Kimber Mills is still alive as of now, but doctors say she has trauma to the brain that makes it unlikely that she will recover.
They say if she survives, she will be on feeding and breathing tubes for the rest of her life.
She is 18 years old.
How crushing and unnecessary is that awful news?
The violence in Alabama is beyond out of control and senseless.
It has claimed far too many young people, with their whole lives waiting to be lived right in front of them.
Doctors add in Mills' situation that no surgery currently exists that would reverse her condition.
Classmates tell us that she was one of the most popular young people because of her constant positive attitude and kindness towards other students.
It is just so heartbreaking, and how can you not feel for the family of Kimber Mills and the other victims?
It didn't have to happen. It didn't need to happen. SENSELESS.
