Milroe Named SEC Player of the Week
Jalen Milroe writ his name in Crimson Flame plenty of times, but he did it once again against the Georgia Bulldogs, and the Southeastern Conference recognized his efforts against the Bulldogs.
Jalen Milroe was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week by the SEC following a stellar performance against the Georgia Bulldogs.
Milroe saved his best performance for the biggest moment. The Alabama quarterback finished the game with 374 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, 117 rushing yards, and two rushing touchdowns. Alabama needed everything it got from Milroe in the 41-34 win over Georgia.
Milroe also cemented himself squarely in the Heisman Trophy conversation, as well as the first round of the NFL draft. Milroe is currently the betting favorite for the Heisman Trophy according to Fanduel Sportsbook, and ESPN's Mel Kiper is confident Milroe stepped into the first-round conversation following the game.
"He's physical and tough, with a rock-solid 6-foot-2, 225-pound frame," Kiper wrote about Milroe. "He shows strong accuracy on deep throws, averaging 11.3 yards per attempt this season. He's a dynamic player who can beat defenses with his underrated speed, even when he has to deal with Georgia's talented defensive playmakers."
"Nothing fazes him and he can make all the throws," he added.
