Alabama Dominates Alabama State, Completing Midweek Series Sweep
Alabama pulled off a series sweep over Alabama State following the Crimson Tide's 13-4 win over the Hornets in Wednesday's midweek victory, which saw two Alabama players finish the night with at least two RBIs, and Justin Lebron's eighth home run of the season.

This game saw Alabama come out early in the top of the first inning and put two runs on the board thanks to an RBI Double to left center field from the Crimson Tide's designated hitter Brady Neal, which drove home center fielder Bryce Fowler, and Lebron to give Alabama a two-run lead going into the bottom half of the opening inning.
Alabama added to its lead in the top of the third inning when Brennan Holt was hit by a pitch with bases loaded, which advanced the Crimson Tide's catcher John Lemm home, and put the Crimson Tide ahead 3-0 going into the bottom of the third inning.
In the top of the fourth inning, Alabama tallied five runs thanks to a solo homerun out to right field, which was his eighth time going yard this season. Neal advanced home due to a balk, shortly after Jason Torres drove home Luke Vaughn from third base. This wasn't all with Justin Osterhouse and Lemm both picking up an RBI single before the end of the inning, which put Alabama ahead 8-0 going into the bottom of the fourth inning.
The Hornents failed to answer back for majority of the game with Alabama's starting pitcher for Wednesday night being Joe Chiardo who scattered two hits and allowed zero runs while facing ten batters, he was later subbed out in the top of the third inning when Luke Smyers trotted out from the bullpen to relieve Chiardo with Smyers appearing for two innings where he allowed one hit, zero runs, and struckout one batter.
At the top of the fifth inning, Alabama added another run to its lead, with this one coming from the Crimson Tide's catcher, who ripped a double down the right field line to drive home Vaughn to make Alabama's lead nine runs going into the bottom of the fifth inning.
The bottom of the fifth inning saw Smyers' day came to an end when Connor Lehman came in to relieve the Freshman pitcher, with Lehman going on to pitch 1.2 innings after his day came to an end in the sixth inning after Alabama State finally got on the board courtesy of a three-run homer from the Hornets' left fielder Devin Chandler which made it a 9-3 ball game going into the seventh inning.
Alabama added two insurance runs at the top of the eighth inning after the Crimson Tide loaded the bases with Lemm and Torres both forcing walks, which drove in two runs, putting the Tide ahead 12-3 going into the bottom of the eighth. In the top of the ninth, the Crimson Tide added one more run after once again Alabama loaded the bases, and this time Vaughn was hit by a pitch, which drove home Andrew Purdy to make it 13-3.
Alabama State only mustered one more run in the bottom of the ninth, making the final score 13-4, resulting in the Crimson Tide improving to 11-3 on the season after Wednesday's win. Alabama will be back in action on Friday, March 6th, when the Tide hosts North Florida for a weekend series at Thomas Sewell Stadium, with game one's first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.
