Nate Oats and the Alabama Crimson Tide have added their first player via the transfer portal after the 2025-26 men's basketball season, with Joe Tipton of On3 reporting that former Kentucky men's basketball forward Brandon Garrison has committed to the Crimson Tide.

Garrison is a 6-foot-10, 245-pound forward from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, who started his career with the Oklahoma State Cowboys. He then transferred to Kentucky after starting 29 games and averaging 7.5 points per game in 2023-24. He spent two seasons with Mark Pope and the Wildcats, starting five games with 36 appearances during the 2025-26 season, where he played 16.2 minutes per game, averaging 4.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 0.5 steals per game for Kentucky.

 

His top performance for Kentucky last season came on February 4, when he scored 20 points, collected 11 rebounds, and had three assists in a 94-78 victory over the Sooners.

 

Garrison announced his intentions to transfer from Kentucky on April 3. Coming out of high school, he was ranked as a top-50 recruit, the No. 7 center in the country, and the No. 1 player in Oklahoma.
