In a standout freshman campaign, Davis II established himself as the Tide's main closer,  throwing 33.2 innings while racking up a team-high and second-in-SEC eight saves. The southpaw sustained a 2.76 ERA throughout SEC play last season.

The Hueytown, Ala., native pitched his way to a spot on the 2023 Freshman All-SEC team and NCBWA Second Team Freshman All-American.

Davis II also earned a spot on the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll in 2023.

Davis II headlines a pitching staff that faced significant turnover last off-season. The 6-5 pitcher will be the go-to closer on a staff consisting of Ben Hess, Riley Quick, Aidan Moza, and transfer Coulson Buchanan, amongst others.
