For the past several days, it has felt like spring but with a fall foliage backdrop.

With tons of rumbling about the forecast for the upcoming Iron Bowl, it’s hard to imagine a cold Iron Bowl forecast, given the unseasonable November temperatures we've been experiencing after the quick blast of cold weather earlier this month.

The 2025 Iron Bowl will be hosted in Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday, November 29, with a 6:30 p.m. kickoff, and it “is looking very cold and dry,” said James Spann, Alabama Weather Network and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist. Fans can expect “temperatures falling through the 30s during the game.”

Is Frigid Air Heading South?

All I can say is get ready for a temperature flip during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. If you didn’t get out your “big coat” during the last cold snap, you might want to get your hands on it soon.

“Dry weather will likely continue on Friday, November 28, and through the weekend with a sharp drop in temperature,” said Spann. “By Saturday, North Alabama won't get out of the 40s during the day, and lows will be in the 20s by Sunday morning.”

The game is still many days away, and tons can change between now and gameday. The Townsquare Media Weather Center will continue monitoring the forecast for the Thanksgiving holiday and Iron Bowl conditions.
