The last time Hale Co went to state Championship was 1965, they lost to DAR. Today the players came out with purple T-shirts, a color used to raise awareness for domestic violence and a message that read "All for Kaci." Hale County eighth-grader Kaci Mitchell and her mother, Paige Mitchell, were victims of a double homicide in January in Moundville, AL.

"We came together as a team, because we all felt the loss & we wanted to do something for the community. Mostly it is to support her family and make sure they know we care," said Hale County sr Kaddell Perry. (who scored 17 today for Kaci in a 79-60 win over Cordova.)

Hale Co will play for the Alabama State Championship Friday, for the first time in more than 50 years. GO CATS!
