We also take the people that we love and care about seriously.

Northport, as well as all of Alabama, lost a local treasure earlier this month.

Bobby Strickland died at the age of 86 in mid-March.

Strickland was married for 64 years to the beloved Charlotte Faye Strickland.

They both oversaw a West Alabama favorite among dining options.

The Front Porch restaurant, which originated in Gordo, became a popular Northport staple.

The restaurant is located on U.S. 43 North, and will be closed today for his funeral.

Strickland loved his customers, and they felt the same about him.

Some may know that Strickland built the original Gordo location completely by himself.

He was known for his ability to build almost anything.

The establishment will open for business during its normal business hours on Tuesday morning.

Bobby Strickland was lovingly known as "PawPaw" by many in West Alabama.
