One man was killed and another seriously wounded by a shooting early Thursday morning in Tuscaloosa.

Captain Gary Hood, the commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said police were called to 1909 29th Avenue just before 1 a.m. Thursday morning.

Two black men were on the ground outside the house, Hood said. One man, 32-year-old Jarvis Anthony Hudson, was dead and the second was rushed to DCH Regional Medical Center for surgery. He remained in critical condition at the hospital later Thursday morning.
