The No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide's game against the struggling, defending national champion LSU Tigers was postponed due to COVID-19 concerns. The game may, or may not be rescheduled, LSU has already scheduled a game against No. 6 Florida on Dec. 12. The SEC Championship game is currently scheduled for Dec. 19 and Alabama and Florida are leading each division.

The Crimson Tide will not take any time off during, what amounts to, a second bye week. Alabama will practice Monday through Thursday as a typical game week and take Friday off. Instead of playing a game this weekend the Crimson Tide will conduct aa Saturday practice to stay in shape.

“We’re trying to stay in the same rhythm that we would,” Saban said Wednesday during the SEC coaches teleconference. “We usually do a light practice Monday, practice Tuesday, Wednesday, little bit of a light practice Thursday, no practice Friday, play a game Saturday. We’ll probably do the same thing. Obviously we won’t have a game, but to keep rhythm, probably have some kind of practice Saturday.”

Alabama will, for now look ahead to hosting Kentucky at home on Nov. 21. Kentucky is 2-4 in this SEC-only season but is scheduled to play Vanderbilt at home this weekend. The Kentucky-Vanderbilt game is one of three games still scheduled to play this weekend as the SEC has had four of its games postponed due to COVID-19.

It is unclear if Greg Sankey and the SEC will alter its schedule further going forward after this weekend's postponement.
