College Football Playoffs Will Suck Without Alabama
IT HAD TO BE SAID!
What looked better on the playoff bracket, Alabama vs. Penn State or SMU vs. Penn State?
You know the truth.
That game will suck and the television ratings will as well when SMU and Penn State play in a couple of weeks.
Penn State and Alabama just fits the profile of a great College Football Playoff game. Two huge football programs doing battle in State College, Pa.
That's what this new expanded playoff was supposed to be all about.
I rarely agree with an Auburn alum but in this case Cam Newton is right.
Cam appeared on ESPN and said what everyone (unless you are a pure 'Bama hater), was thinking after the playoff rankings were released.
He said that nobody wanted to see SMU, Arizona State, Indiana, or Boise State.
Boise State I can actually live with for the playoffs.
Nobody wants to see those other schools. There is a 99% chance they get blown out in any game against a SEC/Big 10 team.
I hear people say that Alabama always gets what they want because they are Alabama.
This proves what I've always said back to those folks. Sometimes it works against us to be Alabama.
Like right now for example. THIS is payback for the "Florida State" snub last year. I'm not the only one that feels this way.
It was even alluded to by one of the members of the CFP Committee.
It should come down to a set of factors and metrics that you can clearly see each season.
We need less subjective factors that can be twisted any way you want it.
Well, you wanted a CFP with no Alabama and that's what you are gonna get.
I'm betting the TV ratings for Alabama/Michigan are much higher than SMU/Penn State.
