After 34 years, a concert will be held at Bryant-Denny Stadium on April 18th. Morgan Wallen and Ella Langley will headline.

Alabama decision makers witnessed other colleges hosting big concerts.

They include Ole Miss, Clemson, and many others. There was concern that Bryant-Denny wasn’t built for a large concert stage and for access to lighting equipment. Those concerns have disappeared.

The financial benefits of a stadium concert to the University may have played a part in booking Morgan Wallen on Saban Field.

There are many new financial considerations with NIL and other now-common athletic department expenses.

Alabama football and basketball are prominent money makers at Bama.

Byrne said the other 19 sports at Alabama lose up to 7 figures in revenue.

Byrne discussed big college football coach buyouts and super agent Jimmy Sexton.

We ask whether Byrne thinks athletic directors should be fired when the coaches they hired are fired.  Thankfully, none of these things are issues for the University of Alabama.

In a lightning question round, we learned Greg Byrne’s favorite hobby is golf. He recently had a date night with his beautiful wife. If he booked a stadium concert just for himself, it might be Metallica. And the funniest coach in the SEC is Lane Kiffin.
