Everyone seems to like those Dunkin' Donuts products, as well as other brands  Well, be careful if you bought them in the last few days.

A huge recall that Alabama is in the middle of includes these products, according to the FDA:

• Dunkin’ Just Baked Yeast Ring 120×1.88 ounces, net weight 14.10 pounds (Item # – 8201834, Recall # – F-0486-2025)
• Dunkin’ Just Baked Yeast Munchkins 350×0.39 ounces, net weight 8.49 pounds (Item # – 8201835, Recall # – F-0487-2025)
• Dunkin’ Just Baked Yeast Shells 120×1.88 ounces, net weight 14.10 pounds (Item # – 8201858, Recall # – F-0497-2025)
• Dunkin’ Just Baked Cake Ring 144×2.45 ounces, new weight 22.05 pounds (Item # – 8201859, Recall # – F-0498-2025)

Another huge recall just announced includes millions of granola bars. The bars were sold at Target, Amazon, and other retailers.

In other shocking food recall news, food recalls in 2024 were much deadlier than in previous years.

Here's a breakdown of the situation:

Increased Frequency: Reports indicate a significant surge in food recalls in 2024. Some sources suggest the number of recalls was the highest in five years.

This increase can be attributed to various factors, including heightened surveillance, improved detection methods, and potentially, breakdowns in food safety protocols.

Deadlier Contaminants: While the specific causes of increased recalls are complex, some recalls in 2024 involved some pretty dangerous contaminants.

Listeria, Salmonella, and E. coli were among the main pathogens responsible for many recalls across Alabama and the USA.

Those are really a big deal for vulnerable populations like the elderly, children, and those with weakened immune systems.

Some recalls also involved my favorite label of "foreign objects" as the reason for the recall. I don't want any "objects" in my food and I do not care if they are foreign or from the good 'ol USA. OK, that was a joke but foreign objects can be plastics or much worse and plastic is pretty bad.

Several large-scale recalls made headlines in 2024. These included recalls of ready-to-eat poultry and meat products due to Listeria contamination and recalls of various produce items like cucumbers linked to Salmonella outbreaks.
