Alabama senior Jonathan Allen and freshman Jalen Hurts have been selected to a list of 15 semifinalists for the 2016 Walter Camp Player of the Year Award. The award is presented annually to the National Player of the Year. In 2015, Alabama running back Derrick Henry won the award.

Allen has recorded 40 tackles on the season, including a team-high 13 hurries, and seven sacks. The senior defensive lineman has returned two fumbled for touchdown this season.

Quarterback Hurts has combined for 2,767 yards of total offense: 2,032 passing and 735 rushing. He's completed 167/260 passes, thrown 16 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Five finalists will be announced on Wednesday, Nov. 30, and the winner be announced on Thursday, Dec. 8.
