Alabama’s offensive recruiting for the 2022 class is already looking prestigious to say the least.

ESPN boosted the appeal of the Crimson Tide’s 2022 recruiting class after they updated their prospect rankings earlier Thursday.

The Crimson Tide now hold commitments from the top ranked ESPN 300 running back in Emmanuel Henderson and the Top ranked dual-threat quarterback in Ty Simpson.

Henderson, who is now ranked as the 16th overall prospect in the nation, was vaulted to the top of the running back rankings heading into his senior season of high school football. While only a 4-star on the ESPN 300, the Hartford, Alabama is considered a 5-star by several other recruiting services and the second-ranked player in the state.

Simpson is listed as a dual-threat quarterback by ESPN, and now the No. 1 ranked player for that position in the country. Like Henderson, he is ranked as a 4-star, as ESPN awards very few 5-star rankings compared to other recruiting services. The 6-foot-2, 190 pound Tennessee native is the 22nd best prospect in the nation according to the updated rankings.

Other national ranking updates for Alabama commits include Mobile outside linebacker Robert Woodyard, who is now ranked as the 126th overall prospect to ESPN. Additionally, Louisiana defensive lineman Walter Bob earned a spot on the rankings as the 194th best prospect. Tight end Elijah Brown is not ranked in the ESPN 300.

Although Alabama only has five commits so far, there is a long time until the early signing period and many top prospects remain uncommitted. Coach Saban and the new Alabama coaching staff will have plenty of work, but plenty of options to add to this impressive start.
