Amari Cooper Taken 4th Overall by the Oakland Raiders
Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper is headed west.
The school's most prolific receiver was taken 4th overall in the NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. He'll join a franchise that hasn't had a winning season since 2002, when the team lost Super Bowl XXXVII to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Raiders drafted quarterback Derek Carr in the 2nd round of the 2014 NFL Draft and put him under center right away. Carr looked very good at times, finishing the year 3,270 passing yards and 21 touchdowns. That was without a true number one receiver so Cooper has an opportunity to step in and make a big impact from day one.
This is what Cooper tweeted before the draft began.
This marks the 16th first round pick that Nick Saban has produced since 2010. That leads all other college football teams.
