Alabama Students Fight Back And Start Petition On Phone Ban
The new school year brought some new policies to Alabama schools.

The new policy that has garnered the most attention is the ban on cell phones/smartphones.
Educators have been complaining about students and their use of smartphones for years.
They claim that students are way too distracted by their devices when in class.
Most teachers are immensely relieved that the ban on devices is now in place.
Not all students or parents see it the same way as the educators do.
A quick scan of social media pages in West Alabama (and across the state) shows some parents making the argument that only students who abuse their smartphones should have them taken away.
Alabama is not the only state banning phones this school year.
Texas and Oklahoma are also on the list of states banning digital/mobile devices at school.
Those states are also seeing students rise and fight back, much like what is happening here in Alabama.
A student-led petition has appeared on change.org, and as of this story, it has nearly 10,000 signatures.
The student is from Hoover, Alabama, and attends Spain Park High School.
