Alabama Players Need To Keep Parents Out Of Their Careers
Yeah, right.

I've seen so much of this kind of comment all over social media.
People saying "Mark Sears is a grown man" and blah blah blah.
I get it.
Yes, he is an adult. He is capable of handling his own life and career without a parent to protect him every moment.
That's just NOT how the world works in 2025 or 1925!
Parents are going to be involved in their children's lives and athletic careers.
What does it matter to the average fan?
All the hateful comments are about something else in my view.
Mark Sears's mother is very outspoken and very loud when it comes to her son and his basketball career.
Last year, I had the chance to host an event with Mark Sears and his family. I sat next to Lameka Sears and I found her to be a breath of fresh air.
We live in such a messed up society when a parent is attacked because they are "too involved" in their child's life.
Yet, we have plenty of parents running around who do not care one bit about their children and what they are doing.
I also see a big double standard with the critics.
I did not see it when Bryce Young or Jalen Hurts fathers spoke out and did media interviews etc.
I'm a dad and I am always gonna be outspoken when it comes to my kids/grandkids.
I've watched parents deal with vicious social media attacks after their child has a bad game and it is beyond painful.
I witnessed it last year with a Crimson Tide football player who was torn to shreds online after one bad performance.
C'mon man. What do you expect from the people who raised him?
I believe it is far worse when parents do not care at all.
Of course, some choose to stay out of it and that is great for them.
I don't believe a parent deserves to be torn up online because they love their child and can't help but try and protect them.
I think we have way worse things to be upset about than parents like Lameka Sears.
