This is all about things you probably didn’t know about Alabama and SEC sports, with a few VERY interesting nuggets about high school football in Alabama.

Let’s get started:

Did you know that in 11 seasons as a power conference head coach, Lane Kiffin has yet to win a national championship, a conference championship, or a playoff game? He also has an atrocious record going up against top-10 teams.

Did you know that Georgia has played in the SEC championship game eight of the last nine seasons?

Did you know that Alabama has won 110 of its last 12 games against Georgia, and the great Kirby Smart is two-and-seven as a head coach when facing the mighty Crimson Tide!

Did you know the Gordo high school football program has enjoyed a truly amazing and dominant 33 consecutive winning seasons? How about the Greenwave?

Did you know Huntsville-Columbia High School began the 2026 season on a 101-game losing streak? That is the longest losing streak in the USA. But that streak is over, as Columbia recently beat Greensboro 41-14 for their first win since 2015.

Did you know Alabama's running game was pathetic in 2025? OK, you did. Well, here’s an example: in the 15 games we played last year, we had only one rushing play that gained over 30 yards, and that was courtesy of A.K. Dear, who broke off a 56-yard run against ULM!

Did you know Crimson Tide wide receiver Ryan Coleman–Williams is on track to graduate in December at 19?

Think about this next one. Did you know the 2025 Crimson Tide football team is the only team in Southeastern Conference history to defeat four ranked opponents in four weeks?

That is truly amazing, given the long history of Alabama football and the SEC. Oh, and by the way, remember that fact about Lane Kiffin and his poor performance against ranked teams? Well, Kalen DeBoer coached the only team in history to defeat four ranked opponents in back-to-back weeks.

Sometimes the facts matter!

I’ll have more fun. Did you know Alabama sports facts in October?
