Alabama Freshman Involved in Baton Rouge Altercation

Both Alabama and LSU's football team enjoyed a bye week off just over halfway through this SEC season. The two programs will not play a game this weekend due to a COVID-19 outbreak in the LSU Tigers' program however the two programs are still intertwined, this time, off the field.

LSU's Koy Moore a freshman receiver for LSU was involved in an altercation between him and Baton Rouge police officers. Moore tweeted about the interaction on Sunday and alleged officer mistreatment in the altercation. Moore claims that the officers drew their weapons on him and unzipped his pants in search of weapons and drugs.

It turns out Moore was accompanied by another football player, Alabama freshman receiver Traeshon Holden. Holden was visiting Moore as the two freshman played travel football in high school together.

Moore's attorney Ryan Thompson says the players were not doing anything wrong. The two athletes were allegedly leaving Moore's apartment after playing video games. The officers were on the scene due to a nearby party.

Coach Nick Saban recently said in a press conference that the players were instructed to go home or nowhere at all on the Alabama bye week. Holden is from Kissimmee, Florida and therefore not at home.

Holden has not spoken about the altercation between Moore and the police officers. He has played in two games this season, against the Tennessee Vols and the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
