Alabama Credit Union Raises $22K To Feed Hungry Kids
Amazing things are happening in the Tuscaloosa community. A local bank recently held a charitable event raising money to feed hungry kids in Tuscaloosa.

Sunday, June 7th, the Alabama Credit Union held their Strike Out Hunger bowling event, and the turnout exceeded expectations. Companies and individuals came out with their team of 5 bowlers to make a difference for children living in food-insecure households.
In total, the event raised over $22,000.
"For the Secret Meals Foundation, this support is the lifeblood that enables us to provide nutritious weekend meals to children in Alabama and Northwest Florida who might otherwise go hungry."
This program was created by the Alabama Credit Union in 2008 with the goal of decreasing the number of children facing hunger over the weekend. The staff at Alabama Credit Union goes to the West Alabama Food Bank to pick up food packs, and on Fridays, they place the packs in the backpacks of students at school across West Alabama.
From the money raised at Strike Out Hunger, 157 hungry kids will be fed through the Secret Meals For Hungry Children program.
