The news of the voice of Charlie Brown Peter Robbins, getting arrested kind of makes me sad. It also made me realize that I had never even wondered who those lucky kids were that got to BE the Peanuts.

I did a little digging on Robbins and found out.

Peter Robbins started acting in 1963. He was the very first voice of Charlie Brown in the classics,  "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown." He started at age nine and was replaced at age 13. An interesting note, the trade mark Charlie Brown "AAUGGGHH!!" was used in episodes after Robbins replacement.

Robbins then went on to make guest appearances in several shows like "F-Troop" and "My Three Sons". He even recorded a 45 single titled "If I Knew Then (What I Know Now)". Who knew this??

I also learned that Robbins actually worked as a DJ in Palm Springs at KPSL 1010 Talk Radio in 1990's. The latest news on Robbins is sad,  arrested at the Mexican border, trying to come back to the U.S.  Customs agents found out he had a warrant in San Diego County for stalking and threatening someone.

"Charlie Brown, You are a BlockHead!"
