It's time for "Yes or B.S." HALLOWEEN STYLE!  We give you a statement, and you decide YES, it's true ... or NO, it's total B.S. (there are 5 statements, scroll down for answers)

1.  The first "fun size" candy bars were Snickers and Milky Way.

2.  The guy who created Reese's Peanut Butter Cups wasn't named Reese.  He was in love with a GIRL named Reese, and did it to impress her.

3.  These are all real Kit Kat flavors in Japan:  Apple, Mango, Lemon, Blueberry Cheesecake, and Grilled Potato.

4. The little piece of paper that sticks out of a Hershey's kiss were specifically added in 1921 to make the wrapper easier to open.

5.  The M's in "M&M's" are the initials of the two people who invented them.

ANSWERS BELOW:

1. Yes:  Mars started making mini-candy bars in 1961, and started using the term "fun size" in 1968.

2. B.S.  We made that up.  The guy who invented them was named H.B. Reese.  He was a former employee for Hershey's, and started making them in 1928.

 

3. Yes:  They also sell a few different pumpkin-flavored Kit Kats around Halloween.

 

4. B.S.  They're called "plumes", and they do make them easier to open.  But they were originally just a branding thing.  Other companies started making chocolate kisses, so Hershey's wanted to make sure people knew they were buying HERSHEY'S kisses.

 

5. Yes:  They were invented by Forrest Mars, the son of the guy who started the Mars company ... and Bruce Murrie, who's father was the president of Hershey's.
