On June 28th, 82-year old Emmett Kyzer went missing from his Cottondale home and he has not been seen or heard from since.

Some family members believe Mr. Kyzer would have required assistance to leave because he was wheelchair bound and was unable to take more than a few steps on his own. He's also diabetic and wears a pacemaker

Mr. Kyzer is described as a white male, 220pounds with blue eyes, and brown hair. He was last seen at his residence in the 14000 block of Keenes Mill Road in Cottondale, Alabama.

The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office launched a search for Kyzer after deputies went to his house to conduct a welfare check but found no one home and evidence that the elderly man could be in danger.

Authorities say a violent robbery 18 months ago left Kyzer mostly house-bound, making his disappearance all the more puzzling to investigators who found his wheelchair in his front yard.

Also puzzling investigators is the fact that Kyzer was a victim of a violent robbery that left him house-bound 18 months ago. The man accused in that crime is currently behind bars and not a suspect.

A search party is planned for this Saturday, July 9th beginning at 8 am at Mr. Kyzer's home. Individuals interested being apart or supporting the search can contact Julie Kizziah at 205.799.9509.

If anyone has any information regarding the whereabouts of Emmett Earl Kyzer, please contact the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office at (205)464-8600 or call 911.

There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to his return.
