What’s The Deal With the Traffic Light at the McFarland and Skyland Intersection?

Has the traffic light at the intersection of McFarland and Skyland changed? It seems as if anyone travelling north on Skyland Boulevard are having to wait... and wait... and wait... and wait.

I left our studios Saturday afternoon and sat waiting on this one traffic light for TWENTY MINUTES. I'm not kidding. It was ridiculous. I counted each time, and only four or five cars were able to make it across the intersection before the light changed. I thought there was a wreck further up the road, but nope-- just a traffic light that wasn't holding long enough for traffic to pass through.

Every time I pass by this intersection, I see people waiting. It's crazy. What's the deal? TDOT says they haven't made any changes, but something isn't right. What's happening?
