It seems to be bothering everyone who has to drive through or near a particular area of town.

It's hard to pinpoint it completely, but from all the phone calls we've taken and the comments on social media, one thing is clear.

SOMETHING STINKS!

Many residents are calling on someone, anyone, to step up and take action.

The location in question is the Coaling exit on 20/59. Most citizens report that location, with others saying the foul odor also moves up the interstate towards Tuscaloosa.

We have even gotten reports that it's now at the Brookwood exit.

Some of the folks we spoke with said it is so bad that everyone in their vehicle starts to gag as they drive through the area.

THIS IS NOTHING NEW!

Several residents called to tell us that this has been a problem for years. Many are upset that nobody has taken action to do something about it.

In our research, we spoke with multiple folks who live near or drive through the smelly area on a daily basis, and we even went to Brookwood Mayor Joe Barger for his take on the complaints.

WHAT IS THAT SMELL?

This can't be that difficult to figure out.

Opinions run the gamut from chicken houses to sewage gases and even some kind of bizarre idea that it is related to an old fire station.

What about you? Any ideas on what is causing this odor that is bothering so many people around the Coaling exit on 20/59?
