West Alabama Weekend Outlook + Info on Another Possible Cold Wave
Many Alabamians enjoyed the snow that Old Man Winter brought to portions of the Yellowhammer State. The winter storm system, named Cora by The Weather Channel, is now “pushing its last snows through the East after bringing a southern wintry mess.”
Depending on your location, you either got a light dusting of snow or a winter wonderland, even if it melted a few hours later. The Weather Channel reports that “the heaviest storm total so far is 14.3 inches in Mena, Arkansas.”
The Tuscaloosa County EMA said, “While no major issues have been reported if you need to travel, use caution as black ice may still be present—especially in shaded areas or spots with poor drainage.”

What’s Next??????
Now, our attention turns to another possible system that could bring cold conditions to the southern region between January 20 and 25.
The NOAA 8-14 Day Temperature Outlook predicts that the Northern section of Alabama will be in the 50-60% probability of below normal temps, while the remaining portion of the state is between a 50-60% probability but near the coast a 33-40% chance.
