West Alabama Monday Briefing (Updated)
Good morning West Alabama! It is Monday, February 10, 2025. This is the 41st day of the hear with 324 days remaining.
Monday Morning Observations:
Guess Philadelphia shouldn't expect a Taylor Swift concert anytime soon. Swift was shown on the jumbotron at the Super Bowl supporting her boyfriend, Kansas City Tight End Travis Kelce. She is a favorite cutaway shot of the TV networks hoping to make points with Swifties. But the mega-star wasn't the center of attention last night.
The 35-year-old looked surprised but unbothered when she heard the negative reaction from mainly Eagles fans at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. She probably remembered that Philadelphia fans are infamous for having booed Santa Claus.
The jumbotron view was literally her last recognition of the game. From that point on the attention was where it should have been, on what Jalen Hurts and his Eagles did to the favored Chiefs.
Seven former Alabama players including Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts along with DeVonta Smith, Landon, Eli Ricks, Landon Dickerson, Byron Young, Cameron Latu, and Tyler Steen suited up for the Eagles.
Jalen is the third former Alabama player to ever win the award. The other two are Bart Starr and Joe Nameth, so he is in great company.
The win couldn't happen to a nicer group of players. They all were role models with the Crimson Tide, especially Hurts and Smith. It is easy to cheer for former Tiders but even more so when they are such good quality men. They represent Alabama well.

Weather:
After a week of spring-like weather we will experience more seasonal weather as we move toward the transition toward spring.
Scattered showers today will turn to Excessive Rainfall potential tomorrow and Wednesday. Four to seven inches of rainfall are possible between the two days. This will result in two things, potential for flash flooding and minor river flooding.
A low-end Marginal (1 in 5) Risk for severe thunderstorms with damaging winds is possible Wednesday night. Winds to 60mph and a small tornado are possible.
There is a positive, if the area receives the amount of rain forecasted, the remaining areas of Abnormal dryness and drought should return to normal soil moisture levels.
