
Advisory Info + Expected Heat Index Values Across West Alabama
“Another heat dome of high pressure is spreading dangerously hot temperatures and high humidity from the South into parts of the Midwest this week,” said The Weather Channel.

The heat alerts range from “Extreme Heat Watch” to “Extreme Heat Warning,” and in some portions of Alabama, a “Heat Advisory.”
A summer continues to bring West Alabama some hot and humid conditions, and the National Weather Service in Birmingham has some communities under a “Heat Advisory.”
This advisory is in effect from Monday, July 21, at 11 a.m. until Tuesday, July 22, at 9 p.m. for all West Alabama counties of Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Perry, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, and Walker.

James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said, “The chance of any one spot seeing a cooling afternoon shower or storm is in the 15-25 percent range through Thursday. Odds increase a bit, into the 25-35 percent range, by Friday and the weekend as the upper ridge weakens a bit.”
