University of Alabama student Randy Robbins was in the direct path of the tornado and was among the walking injured who made their way to DCH Regional Hospital.

Randy Robbins left classes early ahead of the storm and made his way home to his Arlington Square apartment in Alberta.

Despite numerous text messages from friends and family, he was unconcerned about the threat of dangerous weather. Only when he heard what sounded like a roaring train did he seek shelter in the closet and barely survived to share his story.
