City of Tuscaloosa Clears Tickets Through School Supply Donations
Tuscaloosa City Schools are officially back in session, marking the start of a new academic year. Educators, staff, and students returned to campuses ready to learn, and the City of Tuscaloosa was prepared to lend a helping hand for the new school year.
During the weekly City Council meeting on Tuesday, August 5, the City of Tuscaloosa presented Tuscaloosa City Schools with a donation of school supplies gathered through the overtime parking ticket drive.

2025 marks the sixth year of drive, and Tuscaloosa residents during July and August were given the option to settle $19 of overtime parking tickets with school supplies valued at $10.
According to the press release, “Through this drive, the City of Tuscaloosa dismissed 249 overtime parking tickets. Residents donated a total of 1,087 supplies, an increase of more than 300 items from last year.”
Tuscaloosa City Schools will distribute the donated supplies to students who need them.
