School bells will be ringing soon, and to help support students, the City of Tuscaloosa will allow Tuscaloosa residents to pay off “$19 overtime parking tickets with a donation of school supplies valued at $10” and “school supplies valued at $20 or more will be accepted in place of two $19 parking tickets,” said the press release.

All supplies received will be distributed to local students in need by the Tuscaloosa City Board of Education.

The program will run through August 1. Participants can deliver their school supplies to Tuscaloosa Municipal Court at 2122 6th St. For questions, please call 311.

The City of Tuscaloosa has provided a suggested supply list. Please note that school supplies valued at $10 will be accepted with a purchase receipt.
