Serving a four-year term, members of the Board of Trustees are essential in guiding the library’s “setting policies, approving budgets, and ensuring that the library serves the diverse needs of the Tuscaloosa community,” said the press release.

Serving on a board is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of your community. Being a board member is a crucial role in guiding the organization's strategic direction.

Those interested in applying should note that specific requirements must be included:

  • Be a resident of the City of Tuscaloosa
  • Have a strong commitment to public service and the mission of the library
  • Possess skills or experience in areas such as finance, education, community service, public relations, or another related field.
  • Be available to attend monthly meetings.
  • Applications will be open until September 16 at 5 p.m.
